My Postpartum Preeclampsia Experience

My Postpartum Preeclampsia Experience

The last two months of my pregnancy, my blood pressure was slowly rising and i had protein in my urine. It wasn’t taken seriously by my midwife. I got diagnosed with gestational hypertension at 38 weeks and 5 days and went into spontaneous labor. I had three BP checks with my midwife that week after delivery, and all of my symptoms were bypassed. I was eight days postpartum when my fiance rushed me to the hospital. I had a headache that impaired my vision, severe shortness of breath, chest pain, and vomiting. My body was shutting down. My blood pressure was 180/110 when admitted. Almost 4 months later and i still experience spurts of elevated blood pressure and tachycardia.
