Planned Giving

Last Updated on August 09, 2022

Plan your legacy to include supporting moms and their babies now and into the future.

A legacy gift is a planned future gift that designates some part of an individual’s estate as a donation to a nonprofit. You do not need to be wealthy to leave a legacy. Make your core values known by making a planned gift.

You will join a family of generous and forward-thinking donors who will support our long-term success and be long remembered.  In addition to supporting our work through your generous charitable donation, here are other planned gift opportunities you can consider that will sustain the work of the Preeclampsia Foundation for the long term:

  • Bequests: One of the easiest ways to help involves simply naming the Preeclampsia Foundation as a beneficiary in your will and living trust. A bequest may be for a particular dollar amount or percentage of your estate.
  • Life Insurance Policy and Retirement Assets: Often overlooked by donors, naming the Preeclampsia Foundation as a full or partial beneficiary of these assets will sustain the work of the Foundation.
  • Endowment:  By donating to the Preeclampsia Foundation Endowment, you help us build assets for funding the mission into the future.
  • Restricted Funds: A large contribution of money or property to a nonprofit organization which, by mutual agreement with the Foundation, is designated for a specific purpose.  Restricted funds have a minimum investment requirement of $50,000.
  • Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs): Do you know anyone 70 ½ or older with IRA accounts?  Instead of taking a Required Minimum Distribution (RMD), eligible donors can make a gift from their IRA directly to the Preeclampsia Foundation as a QCD, tax free.

We encourage you to consult with your financial advisor or estate planner, or contact us for a referral to one of our qualified planners to discuss the tax implications of the above options and how best to include the Foundation as one of your beneficiaries.

The Legacy Society

Donors who have notified us that they have named the Preeclampsia Foundation in their will or another form of planned gift become members of our distinguished Legacy Society.  If you have named the Preeclampsia Foundation in a planned gift, please contact giving@preeclampsia.org so we can properly recognize your intentions.
